Introduction
This chapter introduces you to the MRS Applics Studio. The steps of registration to the customer area myMRS, download the setup for the software installation and how to maintain and uninstall the software are described.
Installation of MRS Developers Studio (MRS DS) is necessary to use all functionality of the MRS Applics Studio. If the CAN flasher is not used, the installation of MRS Developers Studio is NOT necessary.
To install the software, the following procedure should be observed:
Installation and System Requirements
MRS Applics Studio is tested to run on Windows 10 (64 Bit) or newer. Windows 7 usually works, but it isn't tested with every release.
The following system requirements are recommended:
For CAN communication, e.g. to flash software to the modules, you require a CAN Interface. Several CAN Interfaces from Peak, Vector, Sontheim IXAT are supported. Make sure to select your prefered CAN interface during installation of MRS Developers Studio. If you don't have a CAN interface we recommend the PCAN USB Interface. It can be ordered through MRS.
Registration
After purchasing Applics Studio access to myMRS is activated. Besides the software download, myMRS also gets you product updates notifications, additional products information and other news.
Before you can login you need to complete registration. The registration requires a valid email address to verify your identity. Once registered, an email with a confirmation link will be sent to the address you provided during the registration process. Please follow the instructions in the email to complete your myMRS registration to access Applics Studio. After the confirmation the login is available.
Download and Login
After login to the customer area the dashboard window is shown.
There you can download the setup for MRS Developers Studio and Applics Studio.
Installation and First Start
To install Applics Studio two installation steps are necessary:

To install MRS Developers Studio execute the setup and follow the installer prompts. If the MRS Developers Studio is already installed, the installation is not necessary and can be skipped.
The installation of the MRS Developers Studio and the related drivers and flasher requires adminstration rights. The local path is C:/.
MRS Applics Studio
The installation is done automatically after executing the downloaded setup Applics_Studio_Vx.x.x.exe. During the installation process a window is visualized and after a successful installation Applics Studio will start automatically.
The software will be installed local to the user folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\ApplicsStudio.
If MRS Developers Studio is not installed or can not be found, there will be a window to install it orto set the installation path.
Maintenance and Update
If an update is available, a changelog window will pop-up during Applics Studio startup. It is recommended to save the projects before starting the update, because there is actually no backup function integrated.
Internet access is necessary for the automatic update. Manual updates can be executed by running the setup downloaded through the myMRS.
Uninstall
Applics Studio Software can uninstalled by windows Apps & Features. Follow the prompts in the uninstall application wizard.
